Chelsea Zegarski

Chelsea Zegarski joined the KIPP LA team and family in 2008 during KIPP Raices Academy’s founding year before stepping into the role of Director of Schools. She has served her students and families as a kindergarten teacher, Dean, and Assistant School Leader prior to stepping into the role of School Leader in 2014. While at Raices, she had the pleasure of working with and supporting a talented team that has made Raices one of the top-performing elementary schools in the state of California, ranking in the top 2% of schools on end-of-year state assessments and earning the distinction of California Distinguished School in 2014. Before KIPP, Ms. Zegarski taught kindergarten in Lynwood, California with Teach for America. She received her BA in history from Northwestern University and Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University.
