Karla Davalos
School Leader, KIPP Sol Academy
Karla Davalos is the school leader at KIPP Sol Academy in East Los Angeles. She is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents who found home in the South East LA community, and ultimately South Gate. After graduating from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), she became a 2014 Teach for America New Jersey corp member. She taught 3rd and 4th grade bilingual classes in all subjects. She was a proud founding math and science teacher at KIPP Corazon Academy. Her passion for building strong relationships with students and families, creating safe and inclusive learning environments, and ultimately providing our students and communities with an equitable and highly rigorous education is what led her to become a school administrator. She served as a Dean and Assistant school leader at KCA before becoming the proud school leader at Sol Academy in East LA.
