Timothy Anderson, VP Advancement, is a distinguished leader with a rich background in innovation, business development, marketing, and strategic planning, spanning both higher education and industry. His professional journey is marked by a series of impactful roles, showcasing his ability to drive significant initiatives and cultivate strategic partnerships.

In his current role, Anderson oversees all aspects of fundraising for KIPP SoCal Public Schools. He leads a dynamic team of development professionals with the ambitious goal of raising $100 million for KIPP SoCal’s comprehensive campaign, furthering the organization's mission and expanding its impact.

Most recently, Anderson served as the Vice President of Innovation & New Ventures at Whittier College. In this role, he spearheaded new initiatives and business development efforts aimed at generating new revenue streams for the institution. His focus was on developing and implementing novel programs while building support from industry, government, and other organizations through strategic partnerships.

Before this, Anderson was the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships at Whittier College. During his tenure, he led the launch of the college's first-ever comprehensive campaign, raising $40 million over five years. Under his guidance, the college achieved its highest level of annual funding in its history and secured its largest single gift of $12 million. Anderson also initiated the college's first skills-based certificate programs and multi-channel marketing and advertising campaigns to bolster brand awareness and enrollment.

Prior to his work at Whittier, Anderson made significant contributions at San Francisco State University, where he served as the Chief Development Officer for the College of Business and later as the institution's Executive Director of Development and Operations. At SF State, he increased fundraising for the College of Business by an astonishing 6000%, secured a $25 million gift—the largest in the college’s history—and supported the successful completion of a $150 million comprehensive campaign. His efforts were instrumental in finding new funding sources and collaborating with over 200 faculty members to implement innovative programs in career leadership development, entrepreneurship, commercial real estate, and hospitality.

Anderson's leadership extends beyond academia into the realms of internet and marketing. He is a seasoned veteran of Amazon.com, SBCSMARTpages.com, and j2 Global, where he contributed significantly to the growth and strategic planning efforts. His career began in finance, strategic planning, and business development at notable organizations such as the Times Mirror Company, Knight-Ridder Information, and the Washington Post.

A native of South Central Los Angeles, Anderson's journey is also one of personal achievement and breaking barriers. As a first-generation college attendee, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA and later, his MBA from the prestigious Harvard Business School. His educational background laid a strong foundation for his illustrious career and continued dedication to fostering innovation and strategic growth in every organization he is part of.
