KIPP SoCal hosted a vibrant voter registration event at KIPP Comienza Community Prep Upper School on September 17 to celebrate National Voter Registration Day.
The event brought together over 60 community members and successfully registered ten new voters for the upcoming November 2 election.
The event featured inspiring speeches from KIPP Comienza's student council representatives and representatives from local community organizations such as the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, United Parents & Students, and Chicxs Rockerxs South East Los Angeles.
“Elections aren’t just about choosing leaders—they are about making decisions that affect all parts of our lives. They can shape laws and policies that make our neighborhoods stronger and our schools better. When you vote, you’re choosing who represents your values and priorities, which can make a real difference for us and future generations," said student leader Priscilla G. during her speech.
Their collective voices underscored the importance of civic engagement and motivated participants to take an active role in their community. Together, we are building a culture of advocacy and action to ensure every voice is heard and every vote counts.
