KIPP Promesa Prep with Assemblymember Miguel Santiago Aim to Mitigate the Area’s High Number of COVID-19 Cases
Each attendee will receive up to 8 free COVID-19 testing kits, as supplies last
Los Angeles, CA — A community resource fair and vaccination clinic are taking place at KIPP Promesa Prep in Boyle Heights this Saturday, March 26th with Assemblymember Miguel Santiago to mitigate high rates of the COVID-19 disease in the area, especially with the recent Omicron BA.2 subvariant in the U.S. The school is located at 1241 S. Soto Street, Los Angeles, CA 90023.
According to data from the L.A. County Department of Public Health, because of the high COVID-19 rates, Boyle Heights continues to be a high-need area of vaccine accessibility. The fair is meant to mitigate the further spread of the disease. In addition, to address the disparity in the cost of COVID-19 testing kits for residents living in systemically under-resourced communities, fairgoers will receive up to 8 free COVID-19 testing kits per person, as supplies last. KIPP SoCal Public Schools will host similar fairs through June at other school sites in East Los Angeles, South Los Angeles and the Southeast cities. More than 2,300 vaccines have already been provided.
