Igniting the Change: Celebrating KIPP Comienza Community Prep’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Huntington Park, CA — May 27, 2022 — KIPP Comienza Community Prep, a California Distinguished, tuition-free, college-preparatory TK-8 charter public school, will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and school tours on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. celebrating the newly constructed Kim Frank Family Campus for the Lower School, and the incredible community of individuals who made the dream of KIPP Comienza a reality.

"We are so proud to celebrate our permanent home in Huntington Park, our community that we love deeply," said Krystal Vega-Washington, School Leader at KIPP Comienza Community Prep. The campus is specifically located at 7300 Roseberry Ave., Huntington Park, CA.

“The KIPP Comienza Community Prep campus feels like a home away from home. I was born and raised in this community and back then we didn’t have these opportunities — a whole-child approach to learning, high-quality curriculum, and such a welcoming environment where the school staff feels like family to us,” added Nancy Gonsalez, parent to three students.

KIPP Comienza Community Prep is built on the belief that great schools and strong relationships transform communities. With over 33,000 square feet of facilities, students can enjoy an outdoor area with a super fun structure for all ages, a great multi-purpose room, dozens of classrooms for KIPP Comienza’s specialties, and state-of-the-art technology.
