Los Angeles, CA (September 12, 2024) — In a powerful push to boost civic engagement, KIPP SoCal Public Schools is teaming up with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, United Parents and Students, Chicxs Rockerxs South East Los Angeles, and SELA Collaborative to host a vibrant National Voter Registration Day event.
- What: KIPP SoCal National Voter Registration Day Celebration — This free, nonpartisan community gathering offers more than just voter registration—it's a chance for our communities to unite with local organizations driving social change, strengthen their civic responsibility, and support community vendors. With interactive booths, real-time voter registration, and resources on the importance of every vote, the event is a one-stop destination for those eager to make a difference in their communities.
- When: Tuesday, September 17, from 5-7 p.m.
- Where: KIPP Comienza Community School (Grades 5-6 Campus) — 6348 Seville Ave, Huntington Park, CA 90255
- Why: At KIPP SoCal, we’re committed to ensuring everyone’s voice is heard. In the months leading up to the election, KIPP SoCal plans to transform many of its schools into voting centers, co-sponsor community events, and provide additional resources. This event is a community-driven initiative bringing together influential partners across Los Angeles. It highlights grassroots efforts to uplift marginalized voices in “civic deserts” with historically low voter turnout.
