KAI's inaugural cohort for the National Junior Honor Society, along with their advisors.
At KIPP Academy of Innovation (KAI), students are reaching new heights in leadership and academic excellence, thanks to the visionary efforts of 5th-grade English teacher Ms. Harrison.
This school year, KAI became the first KIPP SoCal school to establish a National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) chapter, providing students with an exciting opportunity to develop their leadership, scholarship, and service skills.
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) fosters a school culture grounded in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship while empowering middle school students to grow into well-rounded leaders who make a positive impact in their school, community, and beyond.
Earlier this year, 19 students were inducted into the NJHS, marking the beginning of a new tradition of academic distinction at KAI. By encouraging students to dream bigger and aim higher, Ms. Harrison is paving the way for future scholars to embrace their full potential.
Ms. Harrison’s dedication to fostering excellence among her students has already made a lasting impact. “Students have already shown us that they have become even more aware of what it means to be a leader,” she shared. “We see the change in them in the hallways, and they understand what this is going to do for their future.”
This milestone reflects KIPP SoCal’s ongoing commitment to nurturing student leaders who will make a difference in their schools and communities. Please join us in congratulating our inaugural NJHS members at KAI:
